Biography
Emilio Conde started singing at age 7, sharing stages with his father, famed tenor Jose Antonio Conde. Soon after, he started his formal studies in voice and piano at the School of the Fine Arts (Escuela de Bellas Artes), Mexico. At age 18, graduating with honors as a pianist from the Naval School of Music, he was accepted to the United States Marine Corps Band, where he performed around 300 concerts annually, made appearances in JAG television series, and got cast as the pianist on the blockbuster movie “The American President” (Michael Douglass, Annette Bening, Martin Sheen).
During his four year term, he discovered a passion for Blues, Jazz, and Modern music, which propelled Emilio to continue his musical formation through higher education. While in college, Emilio was privileged to sing on the stages of The Carnegie Hall New York, performing the work “Misa Azteca” written by acclaimed Hollywood composer Joseph Julian Gonzalez and under the direction of Dr. Teresa Russell.
In 2008, Emilio released his debut album under his band Montecristo titled “Brindis a la Vida”, with producers Henry Gutierrez and Andy Pelaez (Luis Miguel, Shaila Dulcal, Laura Caro, Reik). His song, “Teresa” maintained #4 for twenty consecutive weeks in the U.S. Latin Indie Music Charts. His music release conquered a wide range of genres which made way for collaboration with a sea of big names in the music industry, opening concert tours for stars such as Anahi, Paty Cantu, Gloria Trevi, Molotov, Enanitos Verdes, El Tri, Miguel Mateos, Kalimba, Belinda, Cristian Castro, and World Music legends The Wailers, among many others.
In 2009, Emilio took part in the production of the song “Earth Passport” by Liquid Blue. Emilio’s Spanish and Italian singing contributed to the song’s United States Billboard Charts status, as well as its position in the Guinness World Records as “the song sung in the most languages nominated for the Billboards” (2010).
In the summer of 2012, Emilio Conde made his China debut appearance with the International Percussion Philharmonic (IPP) at the Xinghai Concert Hall with the concert “La Forza del Destino”. Xinghai Conservatory of Music and Sun-Yat Sen University concert halls were his following stages on the concerts “Cross Every Wave” and “Skyfall”.
The following year, he made his mark in China as a composer with the work “Existir” under director Yunna Long at the Guangdong Breaking Arts Festival (BAF). Since then, he has been invited back as a musical director, composer, singer , pianist, and producer for the works “You and Me” (2014), “Tao – Tunnels” (2017), “Renaissance- From Art to HeArt” (2018), “The Twelfth Night” (2020), and “The Purple Hairpin” (2023).
Throughout these same years in China, Emilio and his band, was the American Chamber of Commerce’s preferred artist for 5 consecutive years, and had the honor of being a recurrent featured artist for the U.S. Consulate General (2020-2023).
He is also the founder and singer of the first Mariachi Ensemble in China, “Mariachi Dragon”, featured as such in the new documentary film “Ugly Little Monkeys” (2024). ”Mariachi Dragon” has been the Mexican Consulate General’s preferred artist for the last 10 years, and have performed in some of the most prestigious venues in South-China such as the Zhuhai Opera House, proudly promoting Mexican music and culture.
Emilio Conde holds degrees in Piano Performance, Commercial Music, and Music Production, and is a graduate of Berklee College of Music. He is currently between the U.S., Mexico, and China as a composer, recording artist, producer, and performer, under Conde Records.
